October 22, 2018 -
Perfection is NOT required We enjoy clarity so that we have an idea of the expectations - what is okay and what is not okay. We also know that mistakes are a critical part of learning. Kids need time to cross the line and we need strategies for supporting their learning without losing our cool. We also need to promote a playfulness and the willingness to take risks in some children. We’ll focus this session on routines, compliance, encouragement and resisting the urge to fix ourselves/others when mistakes are made. |
November 13, 2018 - NHA and Gratitude
With Thanksgiving on the horizon, let’s think about NHA as a gratitude practice. In this session we will review STAND 2 intentions and the four recognition types with many video samples and practice opportunities. We’ll also address ways to relate with reluctant receivers and “I'm a bad kid” perceivers. Let's focus on abundance vs. scarcity as we celebrate our kids and families. |
December 12, 2018 - Fishbowl
Bring your celebrations and tribulations to this session. We'll have an open discussion among the group to help support and learn from one another.

January 22, 2019 - Celebrating and Anticipating Developmental Stages
Children progress through developmental stages as they mature. In this session we will look at resources that outline general patterns for social, emotional, physical and cognitive growth. This is an opportunity to focus on successes and anticipate next steps and behaviors related to your child’s development.

February 20, 2019 - Family Systems - Watering the Grass We Want to Grow
The goal of the family system is to build the relationships of each person in a way that fosters cooperation, respect, kindness and love. Parents must model this behavior if they want their children to follow that line of thinking. It takes deliberate effort, and the payoff of having a family system that is healthy and vibrant is worth the effort. Let’s talk about strategies for handling the challenges of family life and how clarity and support factor into our success. |

April 15, 2019 - Emotional Intelligence
Emotional intelligence (EQ or EI) is the ability to understand, use and manage emotions. EQ helps us in social and emotional situations. We need EQ to build strong relationships, make good decisions, and deal with difficult situations. In this session we’ll facilitate adult learning on the topic and then invite the school aged kids who attend to join us for activities and discussion. |

We’ll look at some research about child development and resources that outline the stages many children go through as they mature. Monday, December 18, 2017 - Gratitude and Joy
What’s right in this moment? Tis the season to share joy and gratitude which is hard to do if you’re pulling your hair out. We’ll build on our last session to discuss more self-care and fun ways to shine a light on what’s right in this moment. Come prepared to make some simple gifts to share with those you love. We’ll have supplies on hand and facilitate conversation with a focus on Stand 2, “Absolutely Yes! I will relentlessly create and energize positivity and success through my recognitions and relationship.”
Tuesday, November 28 - Reset and Renew
We’re re-establishing the Heroes group with the intention to RESET and RENEW. In this session we will review our successes with resetting as adults. We will remind ourselves about the range of ways in which we regain composure. What helps? and What doesn’t Help? Then we’ll talk more about using the reset with children. A review of stands one and two will reinforce the importance of juicy time-in. Our welcome back is all about a renewed sense of relationship.
